SALISBURY — The Rowan County Board of Commissioners have another short agenda for the meeting coming up on Monday, with the highlight being a 0.2-acre easement to allow for an incoming temporary housing storage and repair company to connect to the sewer line.

Salisbury Airport Road, LLC owns the empty parcel adjacent to the Speedway gas station at the intersection of Airport Road and South Main Street and is looking to construct a development aimed at “storage, staging and repair of FEMA temporary housing units,” according to the agenda item.

The sewer easement is required to allow the company to connect to the sewer line that runs along Airport Loop, as the county owns the land on both sides of that road. The agenda item states that there would be no fees associated with the granting of the easement.

The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday and will be held at the Rowan County Administration Building located at 130 W. Innes St. in Salisbury. The other agenda items that will be discussed include:

  • The commissioners will consider a family subdivision waiver, allowing a subdivision to be granted to a non-immediate family member, for a property owned by Jamie Sides on East Ridge Road.
  • The commissioners will hear about citizens who applied for membership of local advisory boards and potentially approve their appointments.
